The winners of the Deutsche Telekom Interactive TV Award 2009 have been announced. The Jury selected the best ideas for the future TV: broad|Support with the customisable Bundesliga application Meine Konferenz and the interactive docu soap The Cell from Tel Aviv based Gum Films.

Meine Konferenz (My Conference) was the best concept on the basis of the technical operating environment Microsoft Mediaroom Presentation Framework” MPF). This concept which was submitted by broad|Support from Hamburg, Germany, is directly based on the interactive Liga Total! an IPTV service of Deutsche Telekom. With this application, it should be more convenient for viewers to simultaneously keep track of all favourite matches on a day of play (playing Saturday).

This application also includes an atmospheric warm-up: every viewer can set-up a personalized profile which will enable a particular ambiance as soon as the screen is switched on. Items such as top goals or beloved songs of the viewer’s favourite club will start playing as soon as the screen is tuned on. Like winners of the MPF category, the broad|Support team was awarded a an additional cash prize of 30,000 €

The prize for most creative entry went to The Cell, from the Tel Aviv based company Gum Films. The concept tries to find answers to the question: how will interactive TV of the future recount history? This concept combines TV pictures, photographs and SMS to form a complex Documentation whose content and design is adapted for a young audience. As winners of the Freestyle category, the Gum Films team was awarded a cash prize of 15,000 €

Besides the Patron of the Deutsche Telekom Interactive TV Award 2009 Christian P. Illek, who is also the Divisional Board Director for Marketing T-Home and Marketing Director of T-Mobile Germany, other jury members included: Achim Berg, Managing Director of Microsoft Germany and the Branch President of Information Management at the German Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunication and New Media (BITCOM); Robert Amlung, Digital Representative at the German national Television Station “Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen” (ZDF).
