Production of the new season of CBS's top-rated sitcom Two
« on: February 24, 2010, 07:42:06 PM »
Production of the new season of CBS's top-rated sitcom Two and a Half Men has stopped after its star Charlie Sheen booked into a drug rehabilitation clinic.

The development throws doubt over the future of the show's seventh season, with six of the 24 scheduled episodes still to be shot.

Sheen reportedly failed to turn up for work on Monday – prompting fears he may have violated terms of his bail for a domestic assault charge – and later checked into a drugs and alcohol rehab centre.

A joint statement from CBS, producer Warner Bros Television and series creator Chuck Lorre offered Sheen support and added: "We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter. Production on Two and a Half Men will be temporarily suspended."

Sheen's acting resumé includes feature films Platoon, Wall Street and Ferris Bueller's Day Off and TV sitcom Spin City.
